Troubadour

The educational program that brings the family together around a literary project

Knowing how to write is not just about spelling and conjugation.

Writing is knowing how to construct your ideas, find your voice, and free your creativity.

A program designed for the whole family

Thematic activities all year round

The writing activities offered change with the seasons.

In order to avoid the holiday slide, we offer more activities during the school holidays (summer and winter).

Focus on the parent-child bond

Activities are sent to the parent. YOU must propose them to your child.

Studies show that adult involvement significantly increases a child's motivation.

You are welcome to participate in these activities!

Unlimited Creations

In addition to thematic activities, Troubadour allows children to create as many stories as they want.

Troubadour includes thousands of settings to engage every child: from the aspiring author to the reluctant writer!

An ultra-secure platform

Used in schools, Troubadour adheres to the highest cybersecurity standards.

Troubadour allows children to exchange stories in a secure environment, with adult supervision.

How does it work? Our approach is inspired by the fundamental principles of writing motivation from the Writing For Pleasure Centre

Throughout the year, the parent will receive suggestions for writing activities inspired by the seasons, holidays, and school vacations. Presenting activities to the child.

When the child logs into Troubadour, they see the activity. They can then create an interactive story. The parent may do the same!

The child can share their creations with their friends and, of course, with you!
The Internet can be scary. Fortunately, our sharing system is 100% safe and configurable to your preferences.

Thanks to the inspiring thematic settings, the child gives free rein to their imagination. They discover the pleasure of writing spontaneously, carried by their own desire to create. This is what we call intrinsic motivation!

Over time, the child develops positive feelings towards writing. Whether it becomes a passion or simply a hobby, the love for writing will remain a valuable asset throughout their life.

87%

Troubadour has proven itself in schools!

87% of teachers who use the game notice a positive effect on writing motivation.

  • “With all the characters, ideas come really quickly!”

    - Student at école du Préambule, Quebec, Canada

  • "Wow, it's really great!
It's interactive for both the parent, and the child writing their story!"

    - Joannie, mother

Preventing the holiday slide

The term "holiday slide" is used to describe the decline in knowledge that children have learned during the school year.

Take advantage of the holidays to let your child write without constraints. This will allow them to explore writing in a different way than they do at school.

The importance of being a role model

If you tell your child that writing is a source of pleasure, but you never see them do it, they will quickly understand that this is not the case.

Writing stories in Troubadour can be a fun experience, even for an adult! If you have the opportunity, do not hesitate to write a short story from time to time.

Children LOVE reading their parents' stories.

Scientific literature on the subject writing motivation

Our approach is based on extensive research in educational sciences. We draw inspiration in particular from the work of the Writing For Pleasure Centre, an international reference in the field*.

Adult involvement

There is no obligation to introduce the activity to your child. They will discover it when they connect to the platform.

However, by introducing it to them, you show your interest in what they create, and transform each new activity into a special moment!

Write to be read

The research is clear: one of the biggest motivators for writing is knowing that your work will be read.

Encourage your child to write for a friend or loved one, and you will see the difference!

The pleasure of writing naturally

Unlike extrinsic motivation (rewards, recognition), intrinsic motivation arises from the pleasure of the activity itself. More sustainable, it promotes a genuine feeling of accomplishment.

Your child's smile while writing is the best proof: they have discovered the magic of writing.
